Our Asda Foundation Leeds Half Marathon is a beautiful summer’s day event and one of Yorkshire’s most popular charity road runs. The route has been known as an effective stepping stone for The Yorkshire Marathon as you are challenged with similar hilly terrains.
Starting on The Headrow, in the heart of the City Centre, runners are instantly hit with the euphoria that surrounds this fantastic event. Eventually the course heads out of the City Centre, via New Briggate, towards the delightful village of Meanwood.
At around the 9-mile mark, runners meet Abbey Road which boasts the stunning Kirkstall Abbey – a fabulous example of Medieval Cistercian. It is then a triumphant return to the City Centre along the Kirkstall Road.
Reentering the City Centre, runners are treated to the welcoming site of the majestic Town Hall. Finishing at a packed Millennium Square, provides runners with ideal finale to their fantastic achievement!
