Coventry Cathedral Abseil
Duncan Manderson
My Story
During my military career I was made aware, on a number of occasions, of the relevance of the 'Golden Hour'. The help received in the first 60 minutes after a trauma has occurred has a significant effect on the ultimate outcome for the patient. The rapid presence of an air ambulance, and it's highly professional crew, dramatically increases the chance of a good outcome and eventual quality of life for the patient, that could not happen with road ambulances only.
There is a second bonus for me. I have got to know Coventry Cathedral in the last couple of years as I met a lovely lady (now my wife) who was born and spent most of her life in and around Coventry. She also attends services at the Cathedral and the nearby Holy Trinity Church. Her link with the Cathedral also includes entries in the 'Remember our Child' book commemorating children who have died. She sadly has 2 entries in the book having lost a son and a daughter, so I feel a great emotional attachment, as well as hopefully a rope, to the Cathedral.
I would be most grateful to anybody who would be prepared to support me in raising funds for this very good cause, and allow me to indulge my recently forged bonds with an iconic building at the same time.
Thank you.
